What a list this year! A lot of these I saved-up to specifically watch this Spooky Season and some were fortuitous last-minute additions. This year was also a breakthrough as the girls started watching more scary movies and it’s a lot of fun introducing them to (cult) classics.

2022 Christmas Movies

Decided to go on an off-beat Christmas movie jaunt. White Christmas is an old standard which I feel obligated to watch each year (it’s a great movie so it’s not really much of a hardship obligation).

Black Christmas is by Bob Clark — the same director who brought us A Christmas Story and Porky’s.

Halloween 2022 Movie List!

Here it is all of my loyal fans!! Since I know y’all have been waiting for this, here is the 2022 Spooktober movie list! You’ll notice that it’s not as long as last year’s. I tried to get in 31 days of movies but I couldn’t stay totally horror-focused this year. That being said, we did watch the *Blade* and *Hellboy* trilogies along with the “Monsterverse” versions of Godzilla and King Kong. I had hoped to get Jordan Peele in this year but I think that’ll be part of next year’s theme.

Again, I feel like I pushed it and “watched” some movies without enjoying them but — especially with Freaks — I rediscovered how great the movie is

Halloween 2021 Movie List

Here it is folks! The 2021 Halloween Movie List. You’ll notice that this one is quite a bit longer than last year’s plus I had a few themes: Cloverfield Trilogy, Scream franchise, The Living Dead Trilogy, a few Lovecraftian horror films, etc. Overall, there were quite a few new (to me) films that I am really glad I disovered and some other ones (like the Scream franchise) which are utter crap. I made sure that none of the films from last year are on this list, as well.

Next year I won’t probably try to watch so many. It was a little tiring and I’m “Halloween/Thriller/Horror” movie burned out now!

Halloween 2020 Movie List

Because of COVID-19 and working from home, I’ve had a lot of time to fill October with Halloween monster and horror movies! Many of these I’ve seen before so I can just put them on in the background while working whereas others I like to watch with my girls (especially the older Universal Monster Movies!). I also introduced them to the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes which we’ve been churning through thanks to Disney+.

I’m not sure what we’ll be watching on Halloween itself (Halloweentown? Hocus Pocus?)

Since it’s not Halloween quite yet, I’m sure I’ll add a few more to this list over the next week!
